Ward Councillor asks for voting registration volunteers

JOBURG – Ward 117 Councillor Tim Truluck asks for volunteers to assist during registration for the 2016 municipal elections.

Ward 117 Councillor Tim Truluck has asked for volunteers to assist during the registration process for the 2016 municipal elections.

Truluck said there will be two registration weekends on 6 and 7 February and 5 and 6 March, before the official municipal elections in May.

“The voting stations will be open on both Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 5pm. Residents will be able to check their voter registration status, re-register if they have moved and register if they haven’t done so beforehand,” said Councillor Truluck.

He asked residents to contact him if they wish to help out at the voting station in the mornings or afternoons. Furthermore, residents should be prepared as they might be required to give proof of residence.

Registration stations in the ward will be at Blairgowrie Primary School, Parkhurst Primary School, Rosebank Primary School and Saxonwold Primary School.

Details: Ward 117 Councillor Tim Truluck 083 619 2419.
