NORTHCLIIFF – Excited pupils receive certificates at the first prize-giving ceremony.

Oxford Private College in Northcliff had its first prize-giving ceremony on 3 December. This school follows the Cambridge curriculum and opened in 2012. The school has 50 pupils in primary and high school.

Principal Julie Tazvivinga said, “The event was a huge success, the hall was packed a while before the ceremony had to start. Members of the SAPS, principals from other schools and representatives from companies were present. We want people to see the great work that we do here.”

Tazvivinga added that the prizes handed out were divided into two categories, academic and non-academic awards. Primary school pupils who achieved 90 per cent or higher received an academic award and high school pupils who achieved more than 80 per cent received the award.

“In order to leave no pupil out, we handed out certificates of appreciation for all our pupils. It is just to make them feel special and to let them know that we are proud of them,” said Tazvivinga. She added that they would like people to be aware of the school and the work that they do with the children.
