Delta Environmental Centre’s nine biggest wishes

VICTORY PARK – Delta Environmental Centre tells us their biggest wishes for Christmas.

Delta Environmental Centre (DEC) is a non-profit organisation that focuses on environmental training and consultation for school groups, teachers, municipal employees and corporates. DEC operates from the Art Deco building in Delta Park, and has been in existence sine 1975. On an annual basis, DEC interacts with 25 000 learners of all ages, including 500 adult learners engaged in accredited training and workshops. Residents also visit the museum, and attend meetings and presentations or private functions.

Delta Environmental Centre’s wish list is:

  • A local contractor to paint the exterior of the Delta building
  • A contractor to assist with making the Delta building more accessible to wheelchair users
  • Website maintenance and upgrades on a regular basis
  • Supply and installation of rainwater harvesting tanks on site
  • Supply various types of energy-sufficient lighting inside the building, as identified in an energy audit
  • A vehicle to use for project work in Gauteng and further afield
  • Laptops for five project staff members who are working on youth projects in the North West Province
  • Cellphones for the five project staff members
  • Printing of 50 copies of the 2015 annual report that is already designed, type-set and print-ready in full colour.
