Three women knocked down in accident

NEWLANDS – Three woman are taken to hospital after they were knocked down by a vehicle in Newlands.

Three women were knocked down by a car at the corner of Long Street and Gordon Road in Newlands in the morning of 26 November. ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing explained that when paramedics arrived on scene they found three women between the ages of 20 and 40 lying on the pavement. “The car, which had also knocked another vehicle, was found a few metres away from the pedestrians against a traffic light pole,” she said.

“Upon assessment by paramedics, it was found that the women sustained moderate injuries. The women, aged between 20 and 40, were treated on scene and are being transported to hospital for further medical care,” Bodasing concluded by advising that traffic in the area was slow.
