GALLERY: Northcliff High crushes Rand Park High
RANDPARK RIDGE – Rand Park High School takes on Crawford College Sandton and Northcliff High School in a cricket battle.
Cricket was the winner when Rand Park High School competed against Northcliff High School and Crawford College Sandton on 14 October at Rand Park High School sports ground.
In the match between Rand Park High School and Crawford Sandton, Rand Park batted first and scored 238–3 in 20 overs. Cameron Brunner scored 121 runs and David Chetty scored 52 not out. Crawford Sandton was bowled out for 88 runs with Ronan Kedian taking 3 wickets for 20 runs.
Rand Park U14B versus Northcliff U14C was one-sided with Rand Park scoring 90 for 5 wickets in 15 overs. Northcliff scored 90 without loss, winning by 10 wickets.
The Northcliff versus Rand Park games were an interesting mix of action and challenges due to the rain and wind. Northcliff High School U14 coach Martin Bailey said, “It was our first game for all our U14 players and they won them all. The players are looking forward to all their games [this season].”
The second game was between Rand Park U15A versus Northcliff U15A. Rand Park scored 52 all out and Northcliff scored 196 for 7 wickets and won by 144 runs.
Northcliff High School U15 coach, Michael Chilvers said, “Northcliff is continuing their good streak.”
Steve Adelaine, Rand Park High’s sports coordinator commented, “It was a great performance from a young Rand Park High team and pleasing to see how the team’s commitment to the game and hard work is starting to pay off.”
