EMMARENTIA – Droves of festivalgoers arrive at Mark's Park for Pinkie Fest 2015

Mark’s Park Sports Club played host to the 2015 instalment of the annual music festival, Pinkie Fest on 29 August.

Partygoers descended on the venue dressed in all kinds of fantastic and flamboyant outfits. Pink was the colour of the day and the effect was a bouncing mass of pink bodies gathering around two stages.

The festival boasted a number of South African musicians including Zebra & Giraffe and band headliners, GoodLuck. The stars of the day, however, were the array of DJs who entertained the crowd throughout the day. Performers included artists such as DJ Fresh and Vin Deysel. Tickets were pricey but they included unlimited drinks for the day.

This year, the South African Guide Dogs Association for the Blind was the benefactor of the festival. A donations tent could be seen at the entrance encouraging help for the association that breeds and trains guide dogs for the blind. The organisation operates entirely on donations.
