Police share their act of kindness

PARKTOWN– The Social Crime Prevention and Corporate Communication from Parkview Police Station shared their act of kindness at Guild Cottage.

Parkview Police Station showed their act of kindness at the Guild Cottage Children’s Home on 24 July.

The officers, who are part of the Social Crime Prevention and Corporate Communication units, arrived with groceries at the home for victims of sexual abuse in Parktown.

According to Parkview Police spokesperson Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha, giving means a lot to them.

“We were received warmly by the young girls and staff. We enjoyed festivities which included singing, reading the word of God from the Bible and prayer,” Ramovha said.

He also added that they wanted to reassure the children at the home that the police care about their plight. “We really appreciate those who donated to the home.”

Guild Cottage’s house manager Madelein Heyneke said she was grateful for the contribution.

“It was a great experience for the children,” said Heyneke.

“The children were very appreciative and we are thankful for the support and for the police giving back with their time,” concluded Heyneke.
