GALLERY and VIDEO: Latina festival shows off a rich heritage
EMMARENTIA – Fiesta Latina showcases the best of Latin-American culture.
The fourth annual Fiesta Latina held at Mark’s Park showcased a colourful celebration of Latino culture on 13 June.
Live on-stage dance performances got the crowds tapping their feet and shaking their hips, while the children took a swing at the piñatas filled with delicious treats. In addition to his award-winning dance moves, Peruvian entertainer César Alvarado serenaded the audience with cultural songs.
The festival also offered a taste explosion with cuisine from seven different countries including Venezuela, Perú, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia available to savour.
Ambassador of Peru, his Excellency Nicolas Roncagliolo was gleaming with pride as he walked among the Latino community who came to support the festival.
Fiesta Latina is the only festival of its kind in the country showcasing the vibrant culture, cuisine, music, dance and folklore of Central and South America.
