GALLERY: #Picnic For A Cause
EMMARENTIA – Youths picnic at the Emmarentia Park to support a local underprivileged school.
The inspiring woman from #PicnicForACause and their guests succeeded in the collection of toiletries and food for the Refilwe Community Project at the Joburg Botanical Gardens in Emmarentia on 31 May.
A group of considerate residents have created a social event to raise awareness for different initiatives. Ashley Roberto and Kerryn Elske were the brain children for this idea and together they host a picnic on one Sunday every month. “We host a picnic at Emmerentia Dam (Joburg Botanical Gardens)…each picnic has its own cause. We support and donate to causes such as animal rescue centres, underprivileged schools and children’s homes,” said Roberto.
For this session, picnickers were asked to bring along tinned food and toiletries for the project. Many of the donations consisted of tooth paste, soap, body lotion, tooth brushes, sanitary towels, tinned food and some extra drawing material.
