Robbers caught red handed in Northcliff
NORTHCLIFF – Four robbers stopped in their tracks while they were loading stolen goods in the car, on Amanda Street.
A house robbery occurred on Amanda Street, in Northcliff at 2.10pm on 17 May.
According to Beagle Watch, four man entered the property by breaking the front gate with a pick axe, and proceeded to break the security gate.
While the suspects were loading stolen goods into the silver Mercedes Benz, a struck of fortune happened, as a neighbour in the street heard suspicious noises. Upon hearing the sounds she pressed the Beagle Watch Response panic button.
Anne Wood, Beagle Watch’s customer relations and spokesperson said, “When our team arrived, they were able to arrest one of the suspect who was still in the premises, the other three escaped on foot.”
Two shots were fired by Beagle Watch Armed Response team.
Soon after the Fairlands SAPS arrived and were able to apprehend a second suspect and all the goods were still in the car.
Fairland SAPS Station commander Colonel Maluleke said, “We have been able to arrest two of the four suspects, we will quickly find the next to as our officers are on the lookout.”
He further added, “A case of house robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of suspected stolen vehicles.”
