Integrated visible service delivery operation in Emmerentia

EMMARENTIA – Departments of the City of Joburg assist in an intergrated visible service delivery operation in Emmarentia.

An integrated visible service delivery operation was held by representatives of the City of Johannesburg at Emmartentia on 15 May.

The purpose of the operation allowed employees of the City, Metro Police with the assistance of the public and Ward committee members opportunity to sort out municipal problems and compliance issues at shops and institutions in and around Emmarentia. This operation ranges from inspecting correct building procedures, checking health regulations and compliance, and various municipal problems in the surrounding roads and park areas.

The departments involved at the visible service delivery operation were Building Control, Environmental Health, Immediacy Management Services, Planning, City Parks and Zoo.

Urban manager at the City Ward 87 Tommy Mahlobogoane was very pleased with the huge support they have been offered for the operation. “One of the biggest benefits of this operation is that it affords the City visibility to show the public that we do provide service delivery to our immediate areas,” he said.

Mahlobogoane pointed out that the operation aimed to check the compliance, especially shops located in Greenhill Road, Barry Herzog Avenue, and near Komati Road. “We just want to check that the shops are operating accordingly. We will also be looking at a day-care centre in the area that the Ward committees have been worried about. We have to make sure that the children go to a place that is in a good state,” he said.
