Five pupils of Franklin D Roosevelt Primary School were recently selected to join the U13 Johannesburg North soccer team.

“This is quite a prestige,” said principal Hilton Westlake. “To get five kids in one squad, it practically makes up half the side. I am very proud.”

Westlake added that all five pupils are very talented at soccer, and will strengthen the Johannesburg North team. “As individuals they can all go quite far in soccer.” The pupils are Hishaam Daniels, Uthmaan Bhamjee, Keaton Booysen, Lihle Mabane and Raees Surtee.
