A man was beaten and robbed in his home in Berario during the evening of 8 April.
Fairland Police spokesperson Constable Michael Kgatla said that a case of armed robbery was opened at the station, and Fairland Police are investigating.
The resident, Yundin Huang, explained that the incident occurred around 7.30pm.
Huang arrived home and disarmed his alarm and unlocked his gate, before three men approached him from behind.
“One man had a handgun,” he said.
“They forced me to take the key out and they forced me to my room.”
Huang explained that the men beat him up and took his cellphone.
They also took R20 000 in cash, that Huang was keeping in his room for emergencies.
“They locked me in my bedroom,” he continued.
“I jumped out the window and went to a neighbour who called the police.”
