Open section chess games at De La Salle Holy Cross Junior School on 21 March.

Enjoy a fun chess day at the De La Salle Holy Cross College Junior School hall on 21 March.

This event is open to all lovers of chess.

There will be three sessions to participate in – the open section (open to all, play five rounds 15/15 with clock); primary school section, (any Grade 1 to7 pupil) and the development section (those born in 2008 and later – Grade 1s and Grade Rs).

Entries for all sections close at 1pm on 19 March.

Pre-registration is required. Registration and payment of fees will take place between 9am to 9.30am on 21 March. The entry fee will be R50 per player and it is requested that you bring your own clock.

Programme schedule: 15/15 at rate of play

• Round 1: 9.45am – 10.15am

• Round 2: 10.20am – 10.50am

• Round 3: 10.55am – 11.25am

• Round 4: 11.30am – 12.pm

• Round 5: 12.05pm – 12.35pm

Rounds will start 10 minutes after the previous round ends. The prize-giving will commence 10 minutes after the end of the last round.

Prizes:

Open section – R500 for first place.

Other sections – trophies and medals.
