Pupils and teachers from Roosevelt High School recently undertook a fundraiser to upgrade the school’s existing tuck shop and recess seating.
As a reward for the their efforts, the school has granted pupils the opportunity to have fun in the sun during a fun day that will be held at the school. The activities of the day ranged from wet water sports to boxcar racing.
Even teachers got involved in the fun as teacher Katta Nel was dared to wear a swimsuit and parade on the school field. Nel happily met the challenge, much to the amusement of the school pupils.
Deputy principal at Roosevelt High School Henk Ferreira was very proud that the pupils and staff were so supportive toward meeting the fundraiser’s target.
“The fundraiser was an amazing success. We are very thankful for the support from the pupils and community. Every donation made a huge difference toward the upgrade of the school’s tuck shop and recess seating,” he said.
The fundraiser was met with much enthuasiasm from the pupils involved. The undisclosed target amount for the fundraiser was met and well exceeded. The pupil that ended up contributing the most toward the fundraiser was treated to a Ferrari ride around the school. The Ferrari and the ride were sponsored by one of the school’s ex-pupils.
