‘Cabaret’ on stage at Hyde Park High

HYDE PARK – Hyde Park High to stage their very own production.

The classic Broadway musical Cabaret will be brought to life by Hyde Park High pupils in their own enactment from 11 to 14 March.

Professional choreographer Jaco van Rensburg as well as Elizma Badenhorst are contributing their knowledge of the theatre to make Cabaret a production to remember.

Pupil Moeen Sayed, who is in Grade 12, designed the programme cover with an outstanding pen sketch.

“Sayed is a very gifted artist and did not hesitate to quickly sketch the signature Cabaret dance pose of a lady’s leg with sexy fishnet stockings in red and black ink,” said the school’s Avril Wright.

Wright said the pupils rehearse in neutral black and are looking forward to the technical week, when they will wear full costume.

Tickets are available from the school office at R50 each, with a barnyard format on the Wednesday evening, including a snack basket for R100.
