“As soon as the investigation is complete, the dockets will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for a decision on prosecution.”

It was alleged that the officer fled the scene when Linden Police arrived.

Starkey commented that he now believes the officer is corrupt and not bogus.

“I think he was there extorting bribes,” Starkey said,

He questioned why an officer based in Soweto would pull residents over in Linden, without a partner.

Starkey later posted on Facebook, “I feel if [the officer] was above board he would have simply produced the ID upfront when I asked him for it and not run from his ‘colleagues’ .”
