Couple hijacked at gun point

BLAIRGOWRIE – Anthony and Debbie Davies were hijacked at gunpoint on 6 February at 10.25pm.

The couple were driving from Ferndale towards Blairgowrie in a black Daihatsu Cirion after dropping-off their daughter at home. Anthony Davies commented, “We pulled up to the robot on corner of Grove and Oak streets, three men came to the right of our car and told us to get out the car.”

The armed men pulled the wife and husband out of the car whilst shoving a cocked pistol into Debbie’s chest.

The men left the couple stranded on the side of the road. After a while went by and many cars had passed, “a kind woman stopped to help us, she took us straight to the Randburg Police station,” said Anthony.

A case has been opened at Linden Police station.

Linden SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Carol Mulamu stated, “The police are still investigating the matter. The vehicle has not yet been recovered.”

Details: Linden Police, 011 888 9221.
