Change is OK

FAIRLAND – The grand opening of the new OK Minimark in Fairland had customers flocking from near and far.

A new OK Minimark recently opened its doors to the public at the Fairland Centre.

Previously a 7-Eleven, the store has been converted into a brand new OK Minimark.

The grand opening bragged with a host of opening day specials which drew a large crowd of customers from in and around the area.

CEO of the Batista Retail Group Fernando Batista was very pleased with the store’s revamping.

“We have owned the store for more than 15 years now. It functioned as a 7-Eleven but we are proud of the new branding and renovations,” he said.

Batista explained that Shoprite Holdings Ltd acquired the 7-Eleven brand in South Africa four years ago.

“Shoprite’s main focus was to grow their OK brand by converting 7-Elevens into OK Minimarks. The benefits of this conversion would mean an increase in the stores’ product range and the standardisation of pricing across all OK Minimark stores. Thereby offering more to the general public,” he said.

The general reception of the store’s revamp drew a large crowd of new customers.

“We’ve seen a lot of new faces, overall the reception has been overwhelmingly positive, said Batista.
