Man rapes 65 year old

Constable Chris Tsie and Constable Nolitha Zulu arrested a man for raping an elderly woman.

Police arrested a 23-year-old male in connection with rape of a 65-year-old female that occurred at Zoo Lake on 16 January at 9am.

According to Sargent Lloyd Ramvha of Parkview police, an eyewitness alleges she heard a lady screaming and when she went to investigate with her colleague, she noticed that an unknown male was busy raping an elderly woman.

The witnesses then screamed for help and passers-by converged on the scene and helped in apprehension of the suspect who was running away at the time.

Police were called at the scene and responded immediately. The suspect was arrested and detained at Parkview police station. He will appear in court soon.
