Water out in Blairgowrie

BLAIRGOWRIE – Multiple water pipe bursts lead to dry Blairgowrie.

Residents in parts of Blairgowrie and its surrounds woke up on 15 January without running water.

Johannesburg Water external communications officer Eleanor Mavimbela was not immediately available for comment, but questions were sent to her and comment is awaited.

Ward 102 councillor David Potter explained that there were several water pipe bursts around Randburg, which led to water being cut in these areas.

“They [Johannesburg Water are] busy restoring and everyone should have water soon,” he said.

“It seems a case of two depots not communicating with each other and hence this uncertainty as to the issue.”

Blairgowrie Community Association Committee Member Gail Jelley said that there were “massive water bursts” in Blairgowrie over the last two months.
