Word from Parkview police

PARKVIEW – “New Year is upon us, a fresh start; a new chapter is waiting to be written,” says Lloyd Ramovha of Parkview SAPS.

Parkview Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha writes:

As Parkview SAPS management, we would like to extend our utmost gratitude to the community that we serve. We would like to thank everyone for the cooperation and support during 2014 as far as fighting crime is concerned. We look forward to more of the same in 2015 and beyond.

Just like any other year, 2014 had its own challenges. Areas of concern were mostly vehicle-related crimes, theft of motor vehicles/theft out of motor vehicles – particularly in the Parkhurst area – and also a few house break-in and house robbery cases.

Furthermore, it is rather regrettable that on 6 January, we woke-up to a tragic murder and suicide incident wherein lives were lost.

We can only draw lessons from this going forward. Taking into account the unpredictable nature of domestic dispute complaints, we undertake to exercise extra caution when dealing with complaints of similar nature in the future

The New Year is upon us, a fresh start; a new chapter is waiting to be written.

New questions to be asked, embraced and interrogated; answers to be discovered and then lived in 2015.

Today we carve out the map for a direction to give birth to new plans, objectives and a way forward as we usher in 2015.

As it is the beginning of the year, members of the public are hereby sensitised to verify with the Department of Education the registration status of educational institutions and qualifications they intend to do before enrolling their children, as there’s usually heightened activities by these unscrupulous entities at this time of the year.

May 2015 bring us genuine success in reducing crime to unparalleled levels. Crime-fighting initiatives can only be effective if the community is supportive to the police and works closely with them.

Let us work together to fight crime.
