Take care and stay safe

EMMARENTIA - Ward 88 councilor Patricia Richards says merry Christmas to residents.

Councillor Patricia Richards wished residents of Ward 88 a well-deserved and merry Christmas.

“During the year I have worked with many residents and committees, and working together we have managed to fix some of the problems,” said Richards.

She also thanked her ward committee for their hard work this past year. “Many thanks to all who worked with me and I will continue to work for you,” she said.

She also said this year had not been easy for residents in her ward.

“This past year has been very busy with many service delivery problems – especially power outages due to cable theft and tripping at substations and individual houses.

“Now we have load shedding which could not have come at a worst time – I hope all the matrics and other students managed to study, get to their exams on time and write the exams. I wish them all the best for their future.”

She added, “Beyers Naude Drive is looking a little better, but needs constant care and beautifying. Why do people litter? Does anyone have a solution?

Pikitup is slowly improving on recycling, we all need to recycle,” she said.

Richards said she is trying to persuade the organisers of large concerts to stop at more reasonable hour and to reduce the number of large events next year.

She said above all, residents should take care and stay safe this festive season.

“My wish for 2015 is that service delivery improves. May you all have a peaceful festive season. And all the best for 2015.”
