Da L.E.S real name Leslie Mampe is one of South Africa’s booming hip-hop players that have taken the music industry by storm.
“Hip-hop is at a very good point where we are starting to break international boundaries and create brands out of ourselves and putting our brands onto bigger platforms,” he said.
“Everyone in the industry is doing well in their own right and space.
The muso is best friends with hip-hop star AKA with whom he has had various collaborations and said he enjoys being in the studio making music.
“I have so much drive and passion for making music and there is nothing else I would rather do. I want to continue making music and also get involved in finding new talents in the country. I want to help and that will also take my brand to greater heights.”
Da L.E.S informed that he is currently working with various people in the industry, including females who are talented so he can produce more in the industry.
These holidays, Da L.E.S is of the opinion that music lovers will be dancing to Dice which is one of his latest songs.
“I think people are already dancing to Dice and toward the end of December kicking into to January, I believe they will be dancing to my next single”.
The hard worker’s Christmas plans involve a lot of work.
“We will be doing a lot of shows with AKA and some on my own. It is going to be craze and fun and I look forward to it,” he said.
The rapper who is also a father could not pass at the opportunity to share his experiences on being a father.
“Being a dad is really cool, it is a lot of fun and it has opened up my mind to a lot of things that my mind wasn’t open to before.”
