Zoo Lake hosts upbeat Amazing Race

PARKTOWN – Companies often celebrate the end of the year by hosting Christmas parties. Companies from Northlands Office Park however opted for a different approach by organising a competitive year end function.

A group of companies celebrated the end of the year in exceptional style on 21 November when they participated in their very own ‘Amazing Race’ at Zoo Lake.

Konica Minolta Direct, LinkUp, Konica Minota Katleho, Ariston Financial Services, Absolute Solutions, Paperless Performance, Branded Marketing and M4 Partnered Solutions were the companies whose employees took up the challenge.

Contestants left their workplace at Northlands Office Park in Northriding and travelled to Zoo Lake for the competition. They were picked up by 20 e-tuktuks that left Melville at 6 am. The e-tuktuks were festively decorated and transported the 50 competitors to the competition venue.

The e-tuktuk drivers handed them their first clues in sealed envelopes.

The teams then competed in various challenges including rowing with one oar, making rafts en route and blind-folded tent pitching.

The procession of e-tuktuks delivered the contestants back to their offices at midday again for a festive-season party.

Winners won themselves a nominal token gift package with amusing little items in it.
