Kenya’s ‘Big Brother’ days are over

LINDEN – Ancillar Mangena chats to the latest housemates evicted from the Big Brother house Alusa and Laveda.

It is game over for Kenya.

“I don’t know what the reaction back home is like,” said evicted Big Brother Hotshots housemate Alusa, who had been the last hope for Kenya, following Sabina’s eviction a week ago.

The East African lad shook his head on stage as he was told he did not have Africa’s favour.

“I felt like I was ambushed, I didn’t see it coming… I thought anyone else would go, anyone else but me,” he said, seemingly still in disbelief after being booted out of the Big Brother Africa competition.

“I cried, my beard was wet and I went to a corner and cried some more,” he said with a giggle.

As a strong character while in the house, Alusa showcased that holding grudges is unnecessary.

When Nigerias Tayo provoked Zimbabwe’s JJ into an altercation, Alusa stepped in to help control the situation. The three were on speaking terms the following day.

According to Alusa, it is difficult to stay angry at someone you live under the same roof with.

Although Alusa was disappointed by the circumstances of his exit, he is ecstatic to go home.

“The first thing I did after I got my phone was to look at the pictures of my three boys. I miss them so much and I can’t wait to go home on Wednesday and see them,” Alusa said with enthusiasm.

He was, however, not the only one who was left wondering what went wrong.

Scandalous Tanzania Laveda was left jaw dropped as she was asked to make an exit from the show.

“For me, being evicted is not about being disappointed because I am still very excited because there are a lot of things I want to do and I am about to do within the television industry and with my music,” said the saxophone playing ex-competitor.

Asked about her controversial behaviour, her response was “I am only human, no one is perfect.”

Laveda’s exit came two days after suspicious sounds were heard from her bed. She confirmed that she had engaged in some solo R-rated activity and apologised to viewers that might have been offended by her actions – caused by what she described as adrenaline.

Asked whether the incident might have influenced her departure, the Tanzanian rep said whether it did or not, she believes it was scripted in her life’s journey.

Laveda’s most memorable moment in the house was being selected as the first head of house.

Big Brother evictions take place every Sunday evening and can be viewed on DSTV channels 197 and 198.
