Klaus Beckimann: "What happened is shocking. A lot of businesses are trying to make a living around here and Dollar Table is giving us a bad name. This man has been operating illegally, there is prostitution, money laundering and drugs in this place and now murder. This murder is a setback for all of us, but it did not come as a surprise. A lot of us have complained about this place because it was just too fishy from the beginning. Now our businesses have to suffer because of one rotten egg?"

  1. What I find disappointing is that I have on numerous occasions requested MNT to write an article on the corruption and illegalities of Dollar Table and to expose it. MNT unfortunately ignored my written requests instead of, as a community newspaper, listening to the community. Only producing positive articles until a major crime occurs serves nobody .

  2. Just sad reading about this. I love Melville. That building doesn’t even look safe! There are some really good places in Melville….
