Lunch served in style

ROOSEVELT PARK - Palates were left exalted after an extraordinary meal by Roosevelt High pupils that will leave chefs running for their money.

Roosevelt High School Matriculants brought everyday ingredients to life during their practical exam with a robust five-course meal on 28 August.

The lunch was all sorts of amazing – the real thrill was the presentations of the food and the manner in which the pupils carried themselves through out the lunch.

They managed to tantalise the chief education specialist Khosi Makgapa’s appetite. “I came to support the school and I really enjoyed the food – these students are doing great things in the kitchen, everything was just delicious,” she said.

The pupils received a tick of approval from the head principal Willie de Wet.

“The lunch was well prepared and well-motivated, we are looking to get 10 distinctions for hospitality students, explained the beaming De Wet.

Hospitality teacher Grant Mortimer was impressed with his students’ practicals.

“I am really impressed, this day went well – the food was well prepared and delicious.

The pupils were graded based on their service, food presentation, taste, kitchen cleanliness, team work and attire.
