A natural end to stinky feet

Follow this recipe and say good-bye to smelly feet.

Many people suffer from stinky feet, but not many people know there are natural ways to cure this.

Not only will your feet smell fresh and clean, you will also be using non-toxic and eco-friendly products and most of the ingredients are made of natural, plant-based ingredients which are very beneficial to your body and skin.

Here are some basic tips to help with foot odour;

Be careful how often you wash your feet. Only wash them enough to remove the offending bacteria, but not so often that you remove all the protective oils from your skin. For strong foot odour, I recommend you bathe your feet several times a day, but if you notice that your feet are becoming scaly and cracked, reduce the number of washing.

For extra-sweaty feet, try salt your feet. Try adding half a cup of kosher salt (it has larger crystals than ordinary table salt) to a small bowl of water and soak your feet. Afterwards dry them thoroughly. Salt has a drying effect on the skin.

Sprinkle the inside of your shoes with corn-starch to help absorb moisture, keeping your feet drier.

Simple homemade deodorant recipe;

Ingredients

• 1 tablespoon of grated beeswax to help prevent perspiration.

• 4 tablespoons of coconut oil to soften and added bacteria protection.

• 1 tablespoon of Shea butter for softening.

• 4 teaspoons of clay (bentonite or other) an extra dryness protection.

• 25 drops essential oil – I recommend tea tree as it is exceptionally antibacterial and anti-fungal.

• An empty, clean, sterilised deodorant container.

Method

Melt the beeswax and coconut oil on a very low heat and whisk. Once melted, add in the Shea butter and whisk. Then remove from the heat and continue melting. Then sprinkle in the clay and continue to whisk until well combined. Drop in the essential oil and whisk. Place the pan into a cool water bath, and leave for 5 minutes. Spoon the mixture into your deodorant container and place it in the freezer for 30 minutes. Once the mixture is hard, it’s ready for use.
