ADTFindU: The revolutionary new smartphone app
ADT Security have recently launched the ultimate application for personal safety, ADTFindU. This revolutionary smartphone app enables you to get help whenever and wherever you need. No longer do you need to walk the Northcliff streets in fear, this great smartphone app will help keep you safe!
How ADTFindU works
The application works on Blackberry, Windows Phone 8, Android and IOS smartphones. The mechanic is simple, all you need to do is download the app and turn it on. The app then updates your location every 15 seconds and allows you to alert ADT Security that you are in distress by shaking, swiping or tapping the phone.
ADTFindU works with smartphone GPS technology, cell tower and Wi-Fi hotspot triangulation which allows for accurate location tracking wherever there is cell phone signal. The only requirement is that your smartphone have an active voice connection and sufficient data.
The ADTFindU app also has the remarkable ability to upload live video and audio to the ADT Monitoring centre in the event of an emergency. Once the team receives a distress alert, they will immediately contact you as well as the relevant response unit (Armed response, National Sea Rescue, Emergency Medical Services or the wilderness rescue group.) Their staff will stay on the line with you until help arrives.
ADT’s Marketing and Strategy Director, Martin Ochien’g said that depending on the phone model, obtaining a satellite fix on a specific handset can take between 30 and 60 seconds.
Mr Ochien’g goes onto explain about the app’s stealth mode functionality, “ADT FindU also has a ‘Stealth’ mode which means that you can change the profile so that your phone does not sound an alarm or indicate on the display that it is being tracked. And if you find yourself in a situation in which you are forced to disable the alarm, there is the option to insert a duress code that will let us know that you are in serious danger.”
Another great feature of the app is for theft purposes. If your phone gets stolen, you can simply log onto www.adtfindu.co.za and select the relevant option. The next time your phone connects to the internet, (even if the phone app is not switched on) an alert will be sent to the ADT monitoring centre who will help you locate the handset and catch the criminal who stole it.
