Meet heartbreaker Daniel Baron

NORTHCLIFF - Meet Northcliff-based singer Daniel Baron.

Northcliff-based singer-songwriter Daniel Baron recently released a hit single entitled Heart break.

His hit release Not Here, the epic rock-rap collaboration with hip-hop star, ProVerb hit number one on the Kia Take40SA in July 2013 and remained at the top for two weeks.

Baron hopes that Heart break will also do well on the music scene. He boasts an astounding eight radio hits off his debut album It’s Time.

Subsequent to his South African Idols journey in 2009, Baron decided to use his gained experience to make a career out of music.

The humble and well-spoken artist acknowledged that his success did not come only after Idols but from hard work and determination.

Part of his success is because of his band members “who have made everything possible.”

“I started playing the guitar at church and then Daniel’s drummer introduced us and that’s how I became part of the band,” said Joseph Mupfudze, Baron’s guitarist.

Mupfudze, who currently works as an accountant said, “The band has been going on for three years and we all have our own sound and that is what our fans love.”

Baron added,“We have gone from playing in a little pub in the area with as little as 25 people in the room, but we have worked hard and grounded ourselves to ensure we get what we want.”

Baron and Mupfudze said the band’s ultimate goal is to break into the international market.

“I have always had a dream to play and tour the world with my good mates…this means that I will have to travel there[overseas] often and start getting our music into their stations…it will be hard but it can be done, so we will work hard to make sure it happens,” commented Baron.

To prepare for the tours to come, Mupfudze said he knows that he might have to leave his day job. “I took a break from jamming with the band but the passion lies with the music and I was no longer doing what I love… it affected my job, work sucked and I was depressed and when I came back, my life got back to normal so I guess when the time comes, I will know to quit my day job or not,” said Mupfudze whose first love is music.

According to him, Baron is a hard worker who keeps the band and fans happy.

Daniel Baron and his band kicked off their South African tour in Cresta.
