What to do when a child goes missing

JOBURG - Missing Children SA offers advice on what to do when the unthinkable happens.

Missing Children South Africa (MCSA) creates awareness of missing children in South Africa and aims to support the SAPS as effectively as possible when a child goes missing.

When a child goes missing:

– DO not wait twenty four hours.

– Complete a SAPS 55 form at your nearest police station.

– Contact MCSA on 072 647 7464, email info@missingchildren.co.za, fax 0860 580 3310

– Send the following information

*name of missing child

*age of missing child

*situation surrounding disappearance of missing child

*case number

*SAPS details (including name of assisting officer)

*most recent photo of missing child

– Keep MCSA updated on progress

MCSA will distribute case-related information to the province and even nationally, if necessary. MCSA will keep both the families of the missing child and the SAPS up to date on any relevant information.
