Smooth talker brings home trophy

VICTORY PARK - Joshua Broomberg wins!

And the Oscar goes to… Joshua Broomberg!

At an event hosted by St Mary’s School, Broomberg represented King David School Victory Park in the final of the public speaking competition for high schools and snapped up the Sir John Adamson trophy on 2 April.

After presenting his speech he, like the other four contestants, had questions directed at him about the contents. The adjudicators were highly impressed by the aplomb with which he handled the questions, as they were about his unprepared speech entitled The Blurred Lines.

Teachers, parents and pupils from other schools were unanimous in acknowledging Broomberg’s brilliant ability to engage the audience with his riveting content and delivery. His award, that of best individual speaker, was well deserved.
