Fundraisers Awarded

MULDERSDRIFT - Hotel Hope Ministries receives runner-up position at the inaugural Southern African Fundraising Awards.

Hotel Hope Ministries was named runner-up in the social enterprise category at the inaugural Southern African Fundraising Awards (SAFA) held in Muldersdrift recently.

The awards were established to recognise excellence and to encourage ingenuity in social enterprise and resource mobilisation.

Hotel hope Ministries, founded by Oliver Quambush, was one of the 33 finalist selected by the SAFA organising committee from a list of 150 online nominations. The nominated candidates included non-profit organisations from South Africa, Zambia and Tanzania.

“It wasn’t easy for our judges to select a clear winner in each category, which just demonstrates that each of the 33 finalists deserve recognition for their innovative, creative, dedicated efforts, which have resulted in millions of Rands being generated for the greater social good,” the president of the Southern African Institute of Fundraising (SAIF), Annemarie Barnard, said.

Barnard believes the first winners will inspire other organisations to contribute positively to the development of Southern Africa by means of innovative fundraising.
