The Department of Citizen Relationship and Urban Management (CRUM) of Johannesburg's Region B office conducted an Integrated Visible Service Delivery (IVSD) operation in Westbury on 4 October.

CRUM, along with municipal entities, dedicated the day to attend to service delivery requests of Westbury Extension 3 residents.

The department has compiled a programme for Region B in which they have identified all areas that call for their attention.

Auriel Kobola, CRUM’s inspector for Region B, said their efforts are a way the department can participate in visible service delivery and make a difference.

“We basically check if the local shops comply with bylaws and fixing road markings and potholes, among other services,” Kobola said.

“If there is an outstanding issue the municipal entities will continue with the work and we will monitor the progress at the region.”

JMPD’s bylaw management unit and operations unit were present to monitor bylaws and to conduct road blocks for further clean up.

Kobola mentioned that according to their schedule, the next IVSD will take place in Newlands on 18 October, led by his colleague Solomon Mokgako.

“If people want to report service delivery issues they can contact the call centre on 011-335-4455 or visiting the CRUM offices at -1 ACA Krans Building, Symons Road Auckland Park,” Kobola advised.
