A Grade 7 pupil of Orban School in Westdene has one of the best wings the world over.

Xander Prinsloo recently participated in the USKids Junior Africa Open golf tournament at the Zebula Estate in Limpopo.

The competition took place over three days with participants from eight different countries.

Xander excelled and ended second in the tournament having played 56 holes, just six shots behind the winner.

Xander went further and achieved the best tournament score, by playing 1 behind par:71.

The first three earned a green status, which means Xander will participate in the USkids Teenager World Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

He will also participate in the Callaway World Junior Championship in San Diego CA. “We are very proud of Xander and wish him well in these prestige events,” the school's Diana Nel said.

“Many hours of practising and tenacity enabled Xander to achieve magnificent results. His hard work paid off.”
