The Johannesburg SPCA is appealing to residents to donated washing powder to wash the blankets for the animals.
SPCA spokesperson Jolene Beyleveld, “Thanks you to our supporters for donating blankets. The animals we serve and care for on a daily basis will be kept warm this winter.The blankets in our kennels are changed on a daily basis and those which were not used to play tug-of-war with are washed and reused. As you can image the laundry bills for this is rather large even though no special potpourri scented washing powder is used. Normal automatic washing powder works just fine.”
Donations of washing powder can be dropped off at the to the Johannesburg and Krugersdorp SPCA.
“Animals deserve to be loved and cared for in the best possible way. This includes providing them with a clean blankets to sleep on – just like us,”said Beyleveld.
