GALLERY: A Salute to the King entertains

BRAAMFONTEIN – Bovim Ballet performance impresses the audience at the Nelson Mandela Theatre.

The anticipated spectacular ballet show, Private Presley – A Salute to the King took the stage for the first time in Joburg on 11 October.

The popular musical dance show was staged by the Bovim Ballet in association with The CoLab Network at the Nelson Mandela Theatre in Braamfontein

The rock-‘n-roll ballet show, that juggles full speed, fun and energetic group dance ran for two hours and 10 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.

The sound of timeless classics left the audience shook up, as they exited the theatre with smiles on their faces after having been thoroughly entertained by Bovim Ballet.

According to the creator, Sean Bovim, it was the third season of the show since it was created in 2013, but the first time that the public had a chance to see the show outside Cape Town. Bovim said they are proud they performed the show in Joburg.

He added that in these difficult and challenging times, it is vital that people are able to go to theatres for a night’s entertainment and feel uplifted by the experience.

Bovim said after experiencing Joburg’s heartfelt and enthusiastic reaction to his other show Queen at the Ballet, which they brought to Joburg last year, they are happy that they performed A salute to the King on the very same beautiful stage with its world-class facilities and a top-class crew.
