SEXPO

Feeling a bit adventurous? The Sexpo is a daring exhibition that will keep you entertained if you are 18 years and older. This year’s theme for SA’s surliest, steamiest lifestyle and sexuality expo is Rio Carnival. The event will take place at the Gallagher Estate Convention Centre on 24 – 26 September from 11am to 12pm and on 27 September from 11am until 12pm. VIP tickets can be bought for R280. 24 September will be a student special during which tickets will be priced R150 for students. A 4-day VIP pass can also be purchased for R800. After Animals

Looking for something cultural? If you have not seen Nataniel’s latest production After Animals, you should not miss this dark, dramatic, fantastical, funny production on 23 – 26 September. Nataniel’s latest production is inspired by his own personal love for contemporary and classic art as well as travelling. The production takes place at Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace and tickets are priced from R128 to R176. The show starts at 8.30pm every night.

An Audience with Pieter-Dirk Eish

If comedy is your thing be sure not to miss out on this theatre production by Pieter Dirk Uys from 23 September until 4 October. The show has a grand twist and is based on his preparation to turn 70. It is also a celebration of three decades of theatrical mayhem. Uys has played the roles of more than 80 different characters over the years. During the course of the show the audience will have the opportunity to choose one of 15 of the mystery boxes on stage, he will then represent the chosen character. The show will take place at the Montecasino Pieter Toerien’s Theatre from Tuesdays to Fridays at 8pm and on Saturdays there are shows at 5pm and 8pm. On Sundays the show starts at 3pm. Tickets can be bought at Computicket and prices range between R100 and R170 per person. Parental guidance is advised.

Spit Braai Day

Another way to spend 24 September Heritage Day or Braai Day is to make your way down to Two Okes Brewery in Roodepoort. The entrance fee of R150 per adult and R60 for children will include lunch (a spit braai selection of lamb, pork or beef), three 500ml beers (cooldrinks for children) and a real beer brewery tour. There will be a jumping castle available for children with adult supervision. A mobile barista will also be there for those who prefer java to hops.

Rage Expo

Are you a computer geek? The rAge Expo also known as the Awesome Gaming Expo will ensure you to plunge into the dynamic world of gaming at the Ticketpro Dome at North Riding from 9 – 11 October. This event will be appealing to all hard-core enthusiasts, futurists and fundies, newcomers and casual gamers. This is the biggest gaming gathering on the continent. A collection of computer hardware, console and PC video games, technology and computers will be available to purchase, There will also be exclusive preview events for upcoming games, local game development studios, virtual reality peripherals, behind-closed-door sessions, and a 2 500-seat 52-hour BYOC LAN. The rAge tickets will cost R100 per day or R250 for a weekend pass.

Bring and Braai at the Deutsche Schule

Robertsons Spices will sponsor a Bring and Braai at the Deutsche Internationale Schule in Auckland Park on 24 September.

There will be over 250 fires available and free Robertsons Spices to spice up the braai meat. 5FM DJs will be making an appearance and there will be a beer garden and play area for children. Entertainment will also include Flash Republic and The Graeme Watkins Project.
