GALLERY: Alberts Farm Spring Fair a success

GREYMONT – Alberts Farm Spring Fair exceeds efforts of previous years.

After lengthy planning, the Friends of Alberts Farm hosted their Spring Fair on 29 August at Alberts Farm. The fair opened from 6am to 6pm and had a great turnout.

The purpose of the fair was to raise awareness and to raise funds for the interim repairs required to patch leaks in the dam. Friends of Alberts Farm chairperson Julie Gouws was very pleased with the day, saying that the fair was a big improvement on previous years.

Gouws explained, “Stallholder numbers were up by more than double, to over 45 stalls and income was up significantly. Also, the Greymont Resident’s Forum signed up over 50 new members. Finally, Friends of Alberts Farm signed up several dozen individuals who will assist us as we tackle alien/invasive plant control.”

“The funding and awareness necessary for the dam wall repairs remain a focus for Friends of Alberts Farm and we will continue to look to the private sector as well as surrounding Northcliff/Greymont community for assistance over the coming months,” Gouws concluded.

Friends of Alberts Farm will host a Spring Fair again next year, and look to build on the success of this year’s fair.
