MARK'S PARK – Dog trainers and their dogs enjoy a day of fun at the end of term dog rally.

The Doberman Club and All Breeds Dog Training Club held an All Dogs Rally in Mark’s Park, Emmarentia, on 31 May.

The rally saw a wide array of dog breeds with their handlers participating in a friendly competition through a specifically constructed obstacle course. The course featured climbing ladders, platforms, and tunnels, and mazes for dogs to navigate through.

Committee member at The Doberman and All Breeds Dog Training Club, Tony Forsyth was optimistic that the day served as a wonderful opportunity for the dogs and their handlers to socialise with each other. “The day turned out fantastic. I’m happy to say there was a big turnout. The day was about having a fun day out with the dogs. You could see the dogs and their trainers were having a blast, taking part in the obstacle course,” he said.

Forsyth explained that the rally aimed to take all the classes that the club offers and combine them all into one course. “We integrated all these classes into the course so that the handlers could get a feel for the club. Orientation and smelling is very important for dogs and nicest thing about this rally, is that when the dogs were confronted with these obstacles, their minds were focused to solve them with their handlers” he said.
