Cirque Éloize iD a spectacular sensory overload

JOBURG – Cirque Éloize iD makes its South African debut in an explosive, spectacular and energetic way.

Cirque Éloize’s mind-blowing and dynamic show entitled iD has made its way to South Africa for the first time at the Teatro at Montecasino which opened on Tuesday, 19 August.

iD combines circus arts and urban dance within a high energy non-stop fusion of lights, sound and incredible body movements that will make even the most experienced contortionist look boring.

The show transports the audience to a vibrant urban streetscape. The stage comes alive with the boundless energy of acrobats, break dancers, and contortionists, who perform against a kaleidoscope of eye-popping video projections, building to a stunning finale on a one-of-a-kind video trampowall.

The mesmerizing integration of multimedia gives the show a unique feel. Fourteen performers from 12 disciplines help create iD’s entertaining and resolutely urban universe, in keeping with Cirque Éloize’s tradition of using multidisciplinary performers from around the world.

With 10 original productions to its credit, Cirque Éloize has presented more than 4 000 performances in 440 cities, in some 40 countries around the world.

Showtime Management, SA promoters of this unique visual spectacular, has announced that the show will be extended by a week to accommodate public demand. iD will come to a close on 14 September. With a limited season of only four weeks, patrons are encouraged to book to avoid disappointment.
