Armed men robbed the Linden Spar between 7 and 7.30am on 29 July.

At this point there are three different reports regarding the exact specifics of the incident.
According to the Linden police spokesperson Carol Mulamu, the official police report states that there were four armed men three of which entered the store.
However Linden Neighbourhood Watch chairperson Fareed Hoosen said the CCTV footage reflected four armed suspects in the store and one in a silver BMW 3 series, in which the suspects were driving.
Store owner Mohamed Kazem on the other hand said there were five armed men, “three went into the manager’s office and forced him at gunpoint to open the safe and hurt him in the eye”. A fourth suspect stood guard at the entrance to the store while the fifth kept watch over the cashiers. “I am not sure how much they took but it was a lot of money,” added Kazem.
Hoosen said it was a well-planned efficient heist. “It was fortunate that no shots were fired and no one was badly injured.
The neighbourhood watch will be talking to the stores in the centre as they are part of the Business Watch Project.
Mulamu said there has been no arrest at this point but the police are following all possible leads.
