Slipping into their favourite slippers to bring smiles

Children of De La Salle Holy Cross College raised R12 550 for Reach for a Dream

It is twice as nice knowing that for one day, reaching for your favourite pair of slippers to wear all day helps one child reach for their dreams.

Learners of De La Salle Holy Cross College recently took part in Slipper Day, an initiative led by non-profit, Reach for a Dream, that saw them raise R12 550.

The NPO describes the day as its largest and most celebrated fundraiser. Last year they raised over R8.3 million and this year they hoped to raise R10 million so they can help 2 000 children with life-threatening illnesses ‘experience moments of joy that come with having dreams fulfilled.’

Learners showed their support by paying R20 for a Slipper Day sticker and wearing slippers of all different sizes and colours. They know the money raised will go towards making another child’s dream come true.
