Youths express desperation as seeking employment in the current economic climate is difficult

Having finished high school, many struggle to chart a path forward that will give them an opportunity for success.

The Northciff Melville Times asked some young adults what their biggest challenges were at the moment, and they all spoke about how difficult it is to find work.

ANESIPHO MJONTO (21): It is a huge disadvantage to not be able to find work as I am unable to participate in life. It is only my mother who is at home and working, so it’s stressful.

NHLAKANIPHO NDLOVU (18): I am having difficulty finding a path and deciding on what is right for me and practical between getting a job or studying further.

ADRONICA MOKOENA (21): Being unemployed is having a really bad impact on me. Life is really hard and we sometimes go to bed hungry. Life is hard.
