ALERT: Johannesburg Water monitoring low reservoirs and towers

Customers are requested to reduce water usage because lower supply has impacted water levels and capacity.

In a released statement, Johannesburg Water says the utility is monitoring critically affected systems – reservoirs and towers that are at critically low levels at this stage.

Customers are requested to reduce water usage because lower supply has impacted water levels and capacity.

These are the impacted water supply systems:

  • Linden reservoir and tower – Systems are low but stable.
  • Hursthill 1 and 2 reservoirs – These systems remain at critically low levels. Minor improvement was noted after isolation last night.
  • Brixton systems – These systems remain at critically low levels. Minor improvement was noted from isolation last night.

Johannesburg Water requests customers report leaks and bursts which affects the recovery of affected systems.

Customers are also reminded that level 1 water restrictions are implemented.
