Facing the storms of 2023 together

Ward 86 councillor Chantelle Fourie-Shawe shares her honest new years wish for the community.

Ward 86 councillor Chantelle Fourie-Shawe shares her New Year’s message with the community.

Here is what she had to say:

Dear residents of Ward 86 I wish you all a happy new year.

We are entering 2023 in very muddy waters, with it still rough in our communities. The good news is, however, that most people at the helm really do care and really do want to change things around our city. Even with it being what I think will be an enormous task just to get this done.

Councillors are, as they have always been, on the ground, with you, doing all that we can within our authority which is very limited. Making sure we keep everyone, at the very least, updated especially with entities such as city power.

City Power is the huge focus for many councillors on the ground, but we all know our bridges and roads are collapsing and we have a homelessness crisis not only in the City but the world.

The problems are enormous, people have realise why these problems are so big. This realisation will lead them to the polls in the next elections where they will make the right decision.

We are in this together, have happy 2023, and we will face the storms together.
