Suspects nabbed in Linden

One of the suspects was seen attempting to steal a car.

JHB K9 arrested five suspects in Linden after they attempted the theft of a motor vehicle.

The incident, which took place along 3rd Street on October 19, occurred when patrolling officers received information matching the description of a suspect stripping a grey Toyota Hilux bakkie in attempt to steal it.

The suspect is said to have noticed approaching officers to which he tried to runaway, but was unsuccessful as the officers had contained the situation. He forced to runaway again, but Billy (the K9 dog) apprehended him.

In the process another four suspects were spotted restless trying to take cover, they too were approached and contained by the police. On searching the suspects, various car breaking implements including signal jammer were found in their possession.

All five suspects were arrested on scene and detained with the car breaking implements and the two cars (Toyota Verso and Hyundai Venue) used in the commission of crime were also confiscated.

Suspects are aged between 43 and 52 will be appear in court to face charges of attempted theft of motor vehicle and possession of car breaking implements.

Investigations and continued work together with the community is said to be what made it possible that a crime be prevented and suspects arrested.
