A market by the community, for the community in Fairland
The Fairland CPF held its annual spring market with this event outshining successful previous ones.
The Fairland CPF held its massively successful Spring Market which will raise funds for various projects including improved service to their community and upgrades for the police station.
Held at the Market Street park, with over 200 stalls and impressive support from shoppers, it was a truly community day for all involved.
Pony rides were available for children, a jumping castle and delicious food on hand for hungry or thirsty shoppers on the sweltering day.
Chairman of the CPF Dr Gulam Karim said, “This was a massive effort over many weeks to ensure a successful and safe event. I want to thank everyone involved, especially Mike Styer and his team who pulled this together.”
Fairland Police Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Clive de Freitas concurred, “The CPF has worked incredibly hard, and it has paid off. It has been lovely to see the community come out in force to support them and us.”
Recently the park has been a source of contention in the community as it backs on to the now-closed municipal dump as reported in an article titled, Fairland Dump now closed, [Week ending September 30, 2022].
Following the market, all role players ensured that it was left spotless, despite the large numbers of people in attendance. Beagle Watch who had 10 guards on duty to keep festivities safe also removed all the rubbish following the event.
