Big walk raises R10 000

VICTORY PARK – Little Ashford School was at again, this time raising money for the community.

Little Ashford School Linden raised R10 000 for the community through a fun walk for the kids to enjoy. Known as the Big Walk, this annual fun walk held on March 18 is usually a fundraiser within the school.

This year they opted to do things a little differently by raising the funds for the community instead.

Andy Swanepoel, the school’s principal, said on the day, they had Cansa Shavathon come to share in the excitement. They also had enjoyable things for the kids to do such as a jumping castle and more.

“The bulk of the money raised will go to Cansa Shavathon as well as our CPF with a small amount going towards the school for special projects they have planned in the year. The goal of this day was to build a sense of community while having fun and giving back to the heroes of our community,” concluded Swanepoel.
